Work to replace the RAAC panels in the five stairwells of Bramber House started in August when the first stairwell was closed off to allow the team to carry out the roofing repairs. The team has been progressing well and the work on the main stairwell is now complete. The stairwell is open for use, reinstating access to levels 1-3 and the external entrance to Bramber House is also open.
The remaining four stairwells will undergo the same repairs, continuing with the stairwell at the north end of the building along Arts Path. Both the stairwell and external entrance will be closed shortly, and the bicycle rack outside of Bramber House will be out of use throughout the installation of scaffolding and repair works. The lift will remain operational, with access through Eat Central.
As before, works are likely to be noisy and may cause vibrations within the building.Anyone with a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) that intends to use Bramber House should speak with their line manager to see if this plan needs to be reviewed.
