Undergraduate Enrichment Award (2024)

This award supports a student from a household with a household income of less than £25,000, offering a bursary to enable them to enrich their student experience. The award will be split across each year of study and is available to be spent on any activity which the student otherwise may not be able to participate in, whether those be academic, social or cultural experiences.

Eligibility

  • Who is eligible

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    • Be classified as ‘Home’ for fee purposes
    • Have received an offer of a place to study a full time Bachelors degree at Sussex in 2024
    • Have a household income of less than £25,000, to be verified by Student Finance
  • Who isn’t eligible

    You are not eligible for this scholarship if you:

    • Are applying for a Bachelors at a university that is not at the University of Sussex
    • Are progressing into the final year of an integrated Masters at Sussex

    You are not eligible for this scholarship if you are going to study any of the following:

    • Degrees in Social Work (if receiving an NHS bursary)
    • Foundation year courses

How to apply

Eligible applicants will be contacted by the Scholarships Office with an invitation to apply.

Applicants will be required to submit a personal statement (max. 500 words) to apply for the award. Statements will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • Incoming qualifications
  • Plans for your time at Sussex
  • Aspirations after you finish your course
