SF Said is the award-winning author the Varjak Paw books, Phoenix and Tyger. His books are all currently being read and worked with in classrooms around the UK and elsewhere. SF Said has also written widely about children's literature, and is a passionate campaigner for literacy and reading for pleasure. READING FOR PLEASURE CHANGES LIVES FOREVER!
SF Said will tell the story of how he went from being a young reader to writing award-winning books such as Varjak Paw, Phoenix and Tyger. The talk will include material about his own childhood reading, his dreams of being an author, and insights into the writing and editing processes. He will talk particularly about his new book Tyger, which won the Children's Book Of The Year at the British Book Awards, and will read an extract from it as well as sharing some of Dave McKean's stunning artwork from the book.
