Advance Notice: Temporary Relocation of the IT Service Desk 4 June 

Please be aware that the IT Service Desk will temporarily relocate due to essential mains power works in Shawcross. Date: Thursday 4 June Time: 9:00am – 5:00pm Location during relocation: Library (near the Library Service Desk) During this time, we will continue to provide the following services: * Phone support * Incident and service request support * Drop-in counter service Please note that laptop drop-off and collection services will not be available during this period. From Friday 5 June onwards, we will return to Shawcross, where equipment drop-off and collection services will resume. Thank you for your understanding.  

Shared Mailbox Sending Issue 

We have now implemented a fix which should start to resolve the issue preventing users from sending emails from delegated mailboxes. If you continue to experience issues when using Outlook Classic, we recommend clearing the Outlook cache by following the guidance available here: https://www.sussex.ac.uk/its/help/guide?id=306 As a reminder, the new version of Outlook (Outlook, formerly “Outlook New”) does not rely on a local cache, and using this version is therefore recommended where possible. Outlook (New) – Shared Mailbox Setup To ensure full functionality when accessing shared mailboxes in Outlook (New), please follow these steps: * In the top left of Outlook, select File, then Account Info * In the left-hand menu, ensure you are on the Accounts tab and select Shared with me * If the shared mailbox is not listed, click + Add to include it * Expand the shared mailbox using the dropdown arrow, then select Convert * When prompted with “To get full functionality out of your shared mailbox, restart Outlook”, select Restart Outlook * Once restarted, use Outlook as normal We will continue to monitor the service 

Scheduled Evening Service Interruption: Printing Services Unavailable from 01 June to 04 June 2026 

Physical printing services will be unavailable between 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM, from Monday, 01 June through to Thursday, 04 June, due to planned ITS maintenance. This maintenance will not affect cloud printing, scanning, or other ITS services. If you need to use cloud printing, please ensure that all jobs are completed during the daytime and prior to the start of each maintenance window. Maintenance Schedule: * Monday, 01 June: 18:00 – 23:00 (3033359) * Tuesday, 02 June: 18:00 – 23:00 (3033360) * Wednesday, 03 June: 18:00 – 23:00 (3033361) * Thursday, 04 June: 18:00 – 23:00 (3033363) Why are we doing this work?
