Do you have innovative ideas to create a more sustainable Sussex? If so, you could win up to £5,000 to bring your idea to life.
We will be launching our annual Pitch for the Planet student innovation competition on 19 February 2024, to give you the chance to win funding and a coveted spot in our summer accelerator programme to help you develop and implement your sustainability idea.
Pitch for the Planet 2024 aims to help you turn your ideas to create a more sustainable Sussex into a reality. We want to hear how you could use funding of up to £5,000 and support to implement your innovative ideas on campus and in the local area, to achieve the goals identified in the Sustainable Sussex strategy, including the focus on:
- Being Ethical Educators
- Decarbonising the Economy
- Being Civic Leaders and Partners
- Being Environmental Champions.
All current undergraduate or postgraduate students can apply, either as an individual or with a team of up to six people, whether you will still be studying at Sussex next year or not. Teams can be made up of students from different schools and subjects.
Why not start thinking up your ideas now? We start taking applications from 10am on Monday 19 February 2024 and the deadline to apply is Wednesday 3 April 2024 by 11.59pm.
More information will be released here closer to the launch. If you have any further questions about the competition, please contact the University Sustainability Team at sustainable@sussex.ac.uk
