Samarendra Das is a writer and documentary filmmaker at present as a Senior Reaserch Associate at Centre for World Environmental History (CWEH), University of Sussex, engaged in researching about the global iron ore mining.
His co-authored book Out of This Earth (2010, 2020) and co-directed documentary film Wira Pdika (Earthworm : Conpany Man, 2005) is widely acclaimed.
Das is trained in maths and computer science from Berhampur and Indore universities. He has edited, translated and published several papers and books in both Odia and English language.
