As many people enjoyed the sunshine at the weekend, three members of Sussexsport staff showed how it's done as they tackled a 24-hour relay race.
Terry Cooper, Health and Fitness Development Officer; Mark Beresford, Health and Fitness Instructor; and Jenny Osborne, Senior Duty Manager; joined fellow Sussex staff member and keen runner Brigitte Groves (from Education and Social Work) in the 24-hour Thunder Run Relay on Saturday and Sunday (30-31 July).
Over the duration of a full day and night, the team - seven in total - clocked up 137 miles.
Taking turns, they managed to complete 22 laps of the 10km-long course, made up of various surfaces including grass, farmland and wooded areas.
Brigitte said that the race, in Walton on Trent, threw up some challenges. She said: "The night stages took a little more concentration with lots of sneaky tree roots waiting to trip runners up."
Terry, Mark and Jenny all help to promote fitness and wellbeing across campus in their work at Sussexsport, the University's sports service.
