The wellbeing connectors asked students around campus talking to students about how they can improve their academic success.
Getting support
- Therapeutic services offers both group and individual therapy for students. Students can access it by filling in a therapeutic services form.
- Get in touch with the University advice teams through My Sussex or visit the Student Centre or attend a term-time drop in session.
- Be aware of how to do an exceptional circumstances claim. Here you can claim against: a late penalty, a non-submission of work or that you were impaired in your performance.
- Support for yourself – it was suggested that you write down one happy thing per day and read through this when you are feeling low.
Engaging with your community
- Some students have dedicated time to have a meal with their loved ones. It’s really important that this time is about relaxation and you, not focussing on your academic work.
- Join societies and sports teams. The Students’ Union has a huge number of societies, if you can’t find what you want – you can start one!
- Make sure that you give someone a compliment each day.
- Prioritise your self-care – however that looks for you.
