An interdisciplinary workshop, hosted jointly by the Sussex Sustainability Research Programme (SSRP) and the Sustainable Healthcare Group at the Centre for Equitable Global Health Research, will be a feast of food-related research from across the University.
‘Food for Thought: A Workshop Exploring Food Research at Sussex’, which is part of the University’s busy Summer of Research 2025 programme, takes place on Thursday 12 June from 2pm to 4pm in Gallery Room 1, Conference Centre, Bramber House. Please register here.
We'll hear quickfire presentations from researchers across numerous disciplines and departments, who will introduce their food research in three panels corresponding to the following themes:
-
Environmental sustainability
-
Human flourishing
-
Digital and data futures
Considering the strengths of the University of Sussex in sustainability, development, and related studies, it is no surprise that it supports a thriving community of researchers concerned with food, agriculture, and nutrition.
Exciting projects are scattered across campus, covering a wide range of topics and perspectives: medical studies of nutrition, ecological studies of urban agriculture, investigations of legal aspects of hunger and nutrition, and research on water availability for agriculture.
This event convenes researchers across this community to discuss – and digest – what is going on with food research at Sussex. Refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there!
This event is part of the Summer of Research 2025, a two-week festival of researcher-led talks, workshops and exhibitions celebrating our fantastic research here at the University of Sussex. Find out about and sign up for other exciting events here.
