Sunday Book Club in the Library is launching: A book club with a difference
Breaking the traditional mould of one book suits all, this will be a theme-led book club, so there’s no obligation to read the same book. You can choose any book, either a book you love already or a new one from our suggested reads that we’ll share in advance, as long as it aligns in some way to that month’s theme.
Choosing our monthly theme will be a collaborative affair but book choices are all yours. This way, we aim to inspire lively and engaging discussions by exploring literature from a diverse range of authors and genres. All thoughts will be respected and welcomed.
After each meeting, we’ll share a list of books discussed, which you can use to curate your own book list, or simply to diversify your reading journey. You can borrow books from the Library, use your own books, or explore the Library’s free audiobook collection on the Libby app.
Come along and share books, stories or poems you’ve enjoyed in any genre, books that have given insight or books that have just been fun. Speak about a favourite book or listen in to get recommendations for new books. It’ll be an opportunity to discover new authors, new perspectives, and new connections.
Our Sunday book club is about flexibility. It’s about exploring and discussing diverse and accessible literature, but importantly, it’s about building a group that benefits all.
“If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.”
Haruki Murakami
