Dr Ross Upton is the Founder, CEO and Chief Scientific Officer of Ultromics, an AI company building a diagnostic platform to enable earlier and better detection of Heart Failure using echocardiography. During his time at Ultromics, the AI platform has processed >300,000 patient scans and his team has achieved 6 FDA clearances, 2 FDA Breakthrough designations, 2 reimbursement codes and 2 CE marks.
Ross has a broad scientific background having undertaken four degrees in clinical and data sciences. He trained as a clinical scientist within the NHS specializing in echocardiography, before completing a PhD in Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Oxford. In addition to his role at Ultromics, Ross continues his research in the development and validation of echo-based diagnostics at the University of Oxford. He serves as co-chair of the AI committee of the NIH Heart Failure program HeartShare – a $37m program dedicated to identifying phenotypes of HFpEF.
