Last week, the Sustainability Team kicked off our first co-design sessions to start tackling some of the University’s sustainability challenges: Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) and Sustainable Travel. These sessions marked the start of our journey to bring together the Sussex community to collaboratively design solutions for a more sustainable Sussex, from campus biodiversity, to the way we reduce, reuse, recycle and the foods we eat and grow. You're invited to take part, read on to find out how!
Our sessions last week brought together a range of technical and strategic stakeholders along with USSU officers - the people who know campus logistics best - to share their ideas and insights. The discussions were eye-opening, helping us understand not just the University’s goals and ambitions, but also the practical challenges we need to navigate to achieve them.
These initial sessions have already provided a strong foundation for our work, ensuring that the solutions we design are grounded in both ambition and practicality. The feedback gathered will directly inform the upcoming wider University stakeholder sessions, ‘Sustainability by Design: Solving Challenges Together’, where we will bring together staff and students from across Sussex to co-create solutions to our sustainability challenges.
We want your ideas and perspectives to help shape solutions that work for everyone.
