Last week, over 30 students joined the Belong Team to co-create this year’s Sussex University entry to the Burning of the Clocks parade.
The group, consisting of Student Connectors and students staying on campus over the winter break, created two sculptures to represent the University of Sussex's Sanctuary group’s initiatives to welcome all displaced people and students seeking Sanctuary on campus and across Sussex as a whole.
The theme of this year’s Burning of the clocks event in Brighton City Centre is ‘voyager’ and students from Sussex have chosen to build giant shoes to represent journeys undertaken by displaced people to be able to study here.
