The Sussex Participatory Research Network is thrilled to announce the launch of the ‘Participatory Methods website’, developed in collaboration with IDS.
This resourceful platform is designed to serve the University of Sussex and IDS community, including staff, students, and alumni, by providing comprehensive resources on participatory methods. It aims to facilitate the sharing of experiences and insights from their work.
Crafted with contributions from a diverse community of participatory researchers, the University of Sussex, IDS, and partner organizations, the website offers a wealth of learning materials on participatory research methods. This initiative underscores the University of Sussex’s commitment to participatory and community-led research, with content and funding support from the Sussex Participatory Research Network and the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Impact Acceleration Account (IAA).
Explore Our New Resources:

We believe this website, with its enhanced navigation, will help users integrate participatory elements into their research and find solutions to their queries about participatory methods.
The site will evolve, adding new methodologies, case studies, resources, training opportunities, news, blogs, and external links, aiming to become a dynamic digital library for participatory methods practitioners.
Kristi Langhoff, Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor-Knowledge Exchange, remarks, “The launch of this thoughtfully and collaboratively designed resource is a wonderful achievement that reflects the creative potential in Sussex’s ongoing relationship IDS and the many partner organisations whose work is represented within the new website. As a researcher who uses participatory methods, I am looking forward to learning from the deep knowledge and wide range of skills and experiences represented in the Network and showcased throughout this resource”.
The Sussex Participatory Research Network (Sussex PRN), established in July 2023 under the Sussex Knowledge Exchange and Impact Support Programme, recognizes the extensive experience in participatory approaches across our campus. Sussex PRN offers a platform for colleagues to share experiences, best practices, and build skills in participatory research methods. Since its inception, the network has hosted several engagements and now has over 90 members from all faculties. This year, it launched a series of events for all members and interested colleagues.
