Dr Pablo Iglesias-Rodríguez (SLS) has been re-appointed by the European Securities and Markets Authority

Dr Pablo Iglesias-Rodríguez (Sussex Law School) has been re-appointed by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) to the Consultative Working Group of its CCP Policy Committee. ESMA is the European Union’s financial markets regulator and supervisor. One of the roles of its CCP Policy Committee is to provide advice to the European Commission on central counterparty clearing matters.
The Consultative Working Group is made of 23 individuals, representing a variety of stakeholders, including key financial institutions and market infrastructures. Dr Pablo Iglesias-Rodríguez is one of the 2 academic members of the Consultative Working Group and, in this capacity, he will provide technical assistance and advice on relevant financial sector regulations.
This re-appointment acknowledges Dr Pablo Iglesias-Rodríguez’s standing, proving track-record and expertise in the field of post-trading and puts him at the forefront of European Union policy efforts to foster market integrity, investor protection, and financial stability. It also shows the commitment of the University of Sussex’s staff to contributing to a better society through stakeholder engagement activities.
