The Student Information System (SIS) project has successfully achieved a key milestone with the launch of the project’s first Autumn 2024 ‘release’.
The new release, one of four major releases scheduled at intervals throughout the project, includes UCAS Admissions functionality as well as the first parts of the Curriculum Management workstream and important integrations to housing, reporting and marketing.
The launch has allowed Admissions colleagues to import UCAS admissions data successfully into the new system for the first time and the first ‘live’ offer for 2025/26 academic year entry has now been made. It also means Academic Quality and Partnerships (AQP) can now create new courses in the system as they are approved.
Jo Corbett, Assistant Director (Student Systems and Projects) and Senior Responsible Officer for the project said:
“This is a really important day for the project and for the wider University as it brings us a significant step closer to a modern, secure and efficient new student information system at Sussex.
I’m delighted with the way the team have worked together to deliver this release, and I know that their dedication and expertise will continue to deliver great results for the University as the project moves forward”.
Attention for the project team now turns to the second Autumn 2024 release currently scheduled to launch in November and the Winter release expected to go-live in early 2025.
