The Student Rep Scheme has changed a little this year! Following consultation from students and staff, we are trialing a new system from this year where students sign up to become a Course Repby filling in the self-nomination form and completing online training without the need to be elected. We hope that this will make the scheme more accessible and easier to access for our student body.
Our other rep roles will continue to be elected positions, this includes Senior Course Reps, Specialised Reps (International, Accessibility) and Committee Reps. Senior Course Reps will chair school meetings and attend the university-wide Student Experience Forum, and Committee Reps will attend university committees, and will be paid for their time.
All reps will receive specialised training, support and the opportunity to attend our rep celebration events. Our reps are an incredibly valuable part of our university structure and key in enabling the student voice to be heard at Sussex, so we need your support in encouraging your students to sign-up to the scheme!
