The University’s first ever All-Staff Wellbeing Festival, which took place last Wednesday 17 July, was a huge hit. Thanks to the hard work of the staff from the Organisational Development team and beyond who made it possible, colleagues could choose from a wide variety of activities. From meditation, line dancing, to nutrition and wellbeing talks and vision board sessions, the festival reinforced our commitment to fostering a healthy and supportive work environment.
There were 18 different wellbeing activities on offer, as well as eight talks, and a drop-in wellbeing room where colleagues could taste smoothies from Sussex Uni Food and chai tea from local cafe the Permit Room. Silent discos, and the loveable dogs from Canine Concern drew crowds, as well as the guided boundary walks, where staff enjoyed the views of campus in the sunny weather.
92% of participants who have completed our survey reported that the festival provided a welcoming and inclusive environment. You can still share your thoughts on the festival via this short survey before Friday 2 August at 4pm. Your feedback is crucial in helping us identify what resonated with you, pinpoint areas for improvement, and gather fresh ideas for future events.
Remember, your wellbeing matters every day, not just during festivals, please take a look at our Staff Wellbeing Hub for ongoing support, and stay tuned for more wellbeing initiatives to build together a healthier, happier workplace.
