The School of Media, Arts and Humanities Undergraduate Showcase will return for another year on Wednesday 29 May 2024.
Taking place at the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts – our celebrated on-campus arts venue – the much-anticipated Undergraduate Showcase celebrates the creativity, passion, and talent of our graduating students.
The Showcase provides an opportunity for students to share their final-year projects with a wider audience, inviting family, friends, peers, professors, industry professionals and the wider public to view and engage with their work.
Dr. Christopher Brown, Senior Lecturer in Filmmaking, remarked that the Showcase offers students 'a valuable opportunity to gain experience in preparing their creative work for exhibition and presenting it in a public-facing setting.'
Professor Ivor Gaber, Professor of Political Journalism, highlighted the Showcase as a ‘chance for students to have their work seen by potential employers, commissioners, and fellow students.’
This year’s Undergraduate Showcase will display work from a wide range of subjects and disciplines, including experimental photography, captivating film, thought-provoking soundscapes, and live performances.
When asked for advice for students considering showcasing their work, Ivor encouraged them to ‘be bold and believe that their work is good. Don’t be shy – even though most of us are!’
For Chris, one of the highlights of the Undergraduate Showcase is ‘the opportunity to look at (or listen to!) the creative work in the exhibition, while chatting to the people who made it. It's a great social occasion and a chance to celebrate everyone's hard work.’
The 2024 Undergraduate Showcase is open from 10am-10pm on Wednesday 29 May.
Attendees are invited to join us at 4pm for our Launch event in the ACCA Cafe, including a welcome address by Kate O’Riordan, Pro Vice Chancellor, and a complimentary drink for each guest. The evening will then move into the ACCA Auditorium for film screenings and music performances by our talented students (5pm-9pm).
All are welcome, and there is no need to book.
