On 2 May Vice-Chancellor Professor Sasha Roseneil presented an overview of the final draft for consultation of our new strategy - ‘Sussex 2035: Creating Progressive Futures’.
Over 650 colleagues attended the VC Strategy Open Forum, either in-person at the ACCA or via Zoom, where they heard details about what will be included within the strategy. Professor Roseneil outlined key elements of the strategy: from the core themes of Education and Student Life, Research and Innovation, and Global and Civic Engagement, through to the idea of a new flagship hub – the Sussex School for Progressive Futures – which would catalyse and coordinate a distinctive, world-changing, interdisciplinary programme focused on our strategic themes of environmental sustainability, human flourishing, and digital and data futures.
All staff are now invited to offer feedback on Sussex 2035. The final draft for consultation is available for you to read and afterwards there is a short survey which we invite you to take before 22 May. The results of the survey will be vital in helping to refine the strategy ahead of it being presented to Council in July.
