Today we are taking a look at the paid University of Sussex Student Ambassador roles.

Let’s take a close look at what being a Student Ambassador entails.
What is a Student Ambassador?
Student Ambassadors are the friendly faces representing our university to prospective students. Whether it is on-campus open days, Welcome Week, school visits, or online events, Student Ambassadors play a crucial role in highlighting the vibrant atmosphere and opportunities our university has to offer. As well as undergraduate and postgraduate ambassadors, there are a number of more specialist roles.
Widening Participation (WP) Student Ambassadors
WP Student Ambassadors aim to enhance higher education accessibility for young people from underrepresented backgrounds. In this role you will get the opportunity to help deliver talks, workshops, and academic sessions on campus and in schools. Become a WP Student Ambassador and make a meaningful impact on the educational journey of aspiring students.
International Student Ambassador
As an International Student Ambassador, you could find yourself immersed in a variety of engaging tasks, from managing social media projects to hosting live online chats with prospective students. Additionally, there is the chance to represent the International Office at campus events and even travel to UK-based gatherings alongside our dedicated International Officers.
Welcome Team Student Ambassador
Join the Welcome Team Student Ambassadors for a chance to extend a warm, friendly welcome to new students arriving in September. If you are keen on lending a hand to international students, you can apply to be an International Student Helper, assisting with airport pickups, shuttle services, and more.
Course/Department Student Ambassador
As a Course or Department Student Ambassador, you will welcome prospective students, share insights about your academic experiences, and assist with departmental events during Open Day or Applicant Visit Day. Collaborating with staff and fellow ambassadors, you will play a vital role in representing your academic area and supporting student engagement and recruitment efforts.
