Are you starting to think about jobs after graduation? Why not give your applications a boost with the addition of a Spirit of Sussex Award?
By taking part in different co-curricular activities, such as part-time work, events or volunteering, you can log points towards a Bronze, Silver or Gold Spirit of Sussex Award, which will be awarded at your graduation ceremony.
The Spirit of Sussex Award can help demonstrate key skills and attributes such as:
- Time management
- Teamwork
- Leadership
- Initiative
- Creativity
- Interpersonal skills
Plus, so many more! By having an award on your application, you will have valuable examples of these skills that you can use in job interviews.
Not got a Spirit of Sussex Award yet? Here’s how to get yours!
Each time you complete a co-curricular activity you can log points in each of our categories via the Spirit of Sussex Award platform, and submit evidence for the activity. As you log points your progress bar automatically updates.
The more points you log, the higher your award:
- Bronze – 25 points
- Silver – 50 points
- Gold – 75 points.
The number of points you get for each thing you do depends on your level of participation, recognising the life experiences you’re achieving in addition to your degree.
You get:
- 5 points if you attend and participate
- 10 points if you organise and support
- 15 points if you lead and represent.
If you’ve never logged onto the platform before, all you need to log in is your University email and password.
Check out the Student Hub page for more information and ideas for activities you can log points for.
