The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for strong winds on Monday 22 January from midnight to 9am. A yellow weather warning is in place for Sunday 21 January.
Storm Isha is expected to bring strong winds of 50-60 mph across much of south east England, with gusts of 60-70 mph expected along the south coast. The strongest winds are likely to be across parts of Kent and Sussex, with gusts of 80 mph possible in coastal areas.
The University’s operations and estates teams are taking action to ensure that the campus is as prepared as possible for the weather, in accordance with our severe weather plans. We are confident that campus will be fully operational as normal, however the weather conditions may affect some people’s commute to campus on Monday morning.
We will be monitoring the situation, and will update staff and students via this news item on Monday morning if campus operations are impacted in any way.
We would like to remind staff and students to stay away from coastal areas during high winds for your safety.
