Did you know you are already building your network through your course, societies, sports and other aspects of student life?
As you progress in your studies and think about future options, it can be helpful to reach out to people for extra information and support. Read on for some opportunities you might like to get started expanding your network!
Get to know your Student Rep
Your Student Reps are elected by you to ensure your voices are heard in the decisions that will impact you at the University. The list of Student Reps is now live on the Students’ Union website. The reps will be making a huge effort throughout the year to reach out to you in all kinds of different ways:
- Group chats
- Posters around your school building
- Canvas announcements with staff
- Talking in your lectures and seminars
- Organising events such as coffee mornings or drop-ins.
Get involved in your School and don't hesitate to contact your Student Rep if you have a suggestion to improve your student experience or just to say hi!
Can’t find the rep for your course? Don’t worry, the website is still being updated and more reps will be added to the list over the coming month.
Meet employers at the Careers Fair
Careers Fair 2023 is coming up on Wednesday 8 November, 11am-3pm, at the American Express Stadium, Falmer. You’ll need to book a two-hour time slot to attend.
This is your opportunity to browse and speak to over 95 employers from a wide range of sectors offering graduate roles, vacation work, placements, work experience and voluntary positions.
Many employers will be targeting students from any degree discipline, so you can start exploring your options!
Get support for your startup idea
Have you got a big idea for a better world? Or are you curious about learning new skills and exploring venture creation? Our entrepreneurship programme can help you get started with one-to-one support, startup workshops and funding opportunities.
Come along to the next Ideas Lab session on Tuesday 24 October, where you can meet other students and the staff team. The Big Ideas contest is also back for another year, offering a chance to travel to California and pitch to win £10k in funding!
You can also use CareerHub to book a one-to-one appointment if you’d like to meet a member of the Entrepreneurship team online or on campus.
