In this article, student Abbie Collins breaks down the various careers and employability services available for students and Sussex.
Career Hub
Career Hub is a website that offers lots of resources and support relating to careers and entrepreneurship. You can book one-to-one appointments with Careers Consultants to discuss anything careers related such as an upcoming interview, writing a CV or how to look for job opportunities.
The events section lists a mix of in-person and online events, which are typically centred around academic skills or careers skills. Previous events include Essay Writing Workshops, Introduction to Freelancing and Start-up Sussex.
You can also access videos, guides and presentations under the resources section. Another key feature is the CV360 tool, which is a CV checker that gives you feedback and a score on your CV, this can be accessed via the Ask a Question section.
Career Lab
Career Lab is an online resource on the Student Hub and provides opportunities tailored for your year of study. You can find a range of opportunities and resources available that will help you develop career skills and confidence. Opportunities such as Digital Skills Training, Work Experience Preparation Programme and UK Summer Internships are available currently.

Student Hub
On the Student Hub you can access lots of information about careers and entrepreneurship under the Jobs and Careers section. There is a wide range of information on getting a job during your time as a student, considering future study, finding a job after university, starting your own business and more. There is lots of information available on CV writing with examples of successful CV’s, advice on writing cover letters and filling out application forms. You can also access Big Interview, which is an interview training course.
