Get the tasty lowdown on our catering across campus – and how you can have your say on what we’re offering.
Exciting new-look eateries
Some of our campus cafes are getting a makeover – and there are significant refurbishments on the horizon. Take a look at what's going to change, and check out our gallery of artists' impressions of the upcoming overhaul of Eat Central.
Putting people and planet first
Our new campus catering contract has sustainability at its heart – this article explains how we made finding a catering partner as committed to sustainability as we are an integral part of the procurement process, based on a commitment that the contract would not focus on generating profit, but on delivering sustainability, ethics and value for money for our staff and students. Discover more about the details, including the new £25,000 Sustainability Fund to be spent on reducing the service’s carbon impact each year.
And according to our survey at the end of 2022, a third of meat eaters on campus would be very interested in reducing the amount of meat in their diet. Offering better choice could play a major role in making that possible - find out about the changes that we'll be making, but also why choice is so important.
Recognising diversity with our food offering
With more than 130 countries represented on our campus, it’s vital that the food on sale in our cafes reflects the diversity of our community. Here's what we're doing about it – and how you can have your say.
Ensuring value for our campus community
The £2 Sussex Special meal has been a huge success since it was introduced in November last year: more than 60,000 meals were served between then and June 2023. Discover the tasty options on offer for the new term and how our catering colleagues will be working to strike a balance between portion size and avoiding food waste.
