Posted on behalf of: University of Sussex
Last updated: Friday, 4 August 2023
Colin Shipp, Director of Human Resources, wrote to all staff on 2 August. You can read the full text of his email below.
Further to the update from Keith Jones on 28 June, I write to let you know the University’s approach to those taking part in the marking and assessment boycott in the forthcoming A3 (resit) assessment period. As you will be aware from our previous communication the University does not accept partial performance. It is important that you read this email alongside the industrial action frequently asked questions (FAQs).
- Colleagues taking part in the marking and assessment boycott during the A3 period will have salary deductions capped at 10 days at 25%. This means the maximum deduction any participant will face will equate to an effective deduction of 2.5 days’ salary.
- Those who want to end their participation in the boycott should inform their Head of School and email Human Resources via: IAqueries@sussex.ac.uk.
- The above applies to the A3 (resit) assessment period.
Colleagues are expected to continue to declare their participation in the marking and assessment boycott during the A3 period via self-declaration.
Further information is available on our Industrial Action webpages, which include FAQs and a full glossary of terms.
