My Sussex – our new online support system for students

My Sussex, our new online system for student support, is launching for staff on 31 July. The new portal will be used by staff in the central Division of Student Experience (DSE). It will go live for students later, on 4 September 2023, in time for the start of the new academic year.
The new system aligns with our Learn to Transform and Build on our Strengths strategies by putting support at the core of the student experience. Students will benefit from online access to information designed to help them throughout their Sussex journey. This central point for resources and guidance will enable students take care of their wellbeing by providing access to support services and events, allowing them to raise enquiries, and delivering quick answers to commonly asked student queries through a comprehensive list of frequently asked questions.
It is good practice within the sector to have a robust support system in place, and My Sussex will provide resilience to the delivery of student support services, both on campus and virtually.
For staff, the switch to My Sussex only applies to DSE colleagues, who will begin using My Sussex from 31 July to provide a more joined up support for students. School staff will not be using My Sussex when it goes live, and will continue to be able to contact central services directly, using existing processes to raise concerns or flag students requiring urgent support
Students currently receiving support will not be impacted by the change to a new system; the process will be seamless, and DSE staff are available to support should any questions arise.
