Sussex wins Green Flag award for seventh year in a row

Sussex has been presented with a Green Flag Award for 2023, marking seven years in a row that the University has won the award.
Managed by the Sussex Estates and Facilities (SEF) Grounds team, working with the University Sustainability team and other groups on campus, Falmer campus has been recognised for its excellent green spaces and commitment to maintaining cohesion with the surrounding South Downs ecosystem, with grounds management on campus staying true to its environment while also meeting the needs of staff, students and visitors.
The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
