Find out how apprenticeships can support skills and career development

As mentioned by Kate O’Riordan in her recent article, Achievement and Development Reviews (ADRs) can support training needs, career development and progression.
Apprenticeships are one of the many development opportunities we can offer staff to enhance skills and knowledge, gain a qualification and prepare for the next stage of your career. With that in mind, reviewers and reviewees are encouraged to consider apprenticeships in the upcoming round of ADRs.
If you are a reviewee
Apprenticeship qualifications can offer you a highly developed set of work-based transferable skills. An apprenticeship is based on current and real work - so the workplace benefits whilst you are learning.
There are over 600 different apprenticeships and many are suitable for grades 1-6 in administration, business, digital, creative and design, marketing and management to name just a few. Some are more specialist subjects and some are quite obscure! Apprenticeships are available from level 2 up to degree level, (which includes bachelors or masters level) and all training and assessment costs are funded by the University apprenticeship levy.

It’s important to be aware of the many apprenticeships that can develop our workforce, support succession planning and help the University achieve its strategic aims.
