Belong at Sussex run a range of activities, co-created with Student Connectors, that complement the other events that take place on campus and support all students to find their community and sense of belonging at Sussex.
Our upcoming activities include:
Valentine's Day at Sussex
This Valentine’s Day, the Student Centre will be hosting activities to celebrate how we can care for ourselves and each other. There will be a wide range of free activities taking place throughout the day. See the full programme for the day.
Want to find out more about Belong at Sussex activities? Drop in to Woodland 2/3 between 12-2pm for a free community lunch. Meet the community student connectors, create origami hearts and learn more about the Belong at Sussex programme.
Activities for mature students
This term Belong at Sussex will be offering a wide range of activities for mature students, including informal social ‘coffee and chat’ sessions, peer-led ‘Skills Share’ study discussion groups (session 1 is on 8 February), and an afternoon of skills-focussed workshops and activities just for mature students (Tuesday 14 March - booking page coming soon). If you’re a mature student please join our Canvas community page and check our events page.
Activities for student parents and carers
Show us who you care for! You and your children are invited to do some colouring for our Valentine's display in the Student Centre. You might win a Sussex cuddly toy! Please book if you’d like to join us at the Parents & Carers Social on 14 February from 11am-2pm, or email SEE@Sussex.ac.uk to take part from home.
Please join our Canvas community page to receive notifications about our activities by email, including our upcoming free Family Fun Day during the Easter holidays.
Belong in Nature
In March and April you are invited to take a break from your studies, get to know others and enjoy the natural spaces close to campus, in our Belong in Nature series. Activities will include a wheelchair-accessible Bluebells & Birdsong Walk, plant pot painting and a trip to Devil’s Dyke. For more information please enrol on our Belong at Sussex Canvas page, and you will receive email notifications when events are confirmed.
