In the Students’ Union, you can try yourself out in various jobs in different departments. We look for people who are friendly, positive and supportive. You do not have to have any prior experience when applying to our student and graduate jobs!
The Students’ Union provides an opportunity to experience, first-hand, what a fast-paced professional work environment is like. You can be secure in the knowledge that the work you do supports the interests of students. The union has a high level of communication which means wherever you work you will get some idea of how the different departments interact and how a company of this scale operates.
Our staff have described just how unique each day can be and the great variety in workload means that dull moments are few and far between! Meeting your fellow students can present incredible networking opportunities too.
Departments you can work in and some of the student jobs available:
- IT (IT Assistants)
- HR (HR Administrator, Training Administrator)
- Lettings (Lettings Administrator)
- Shops and Bars (Customer Service Assistants, Receptionists)
- Activities Team (Activities Administrators)

- Student Voice (Race Equity Advocates)
Graduate positions are available for students looking to gain some experience in the three years after graduating. If you have graduated recently, or know people who have, you may have heard how hard it can be to find work without relevant experience. By using that three-year window after you graduate to familiarise yourself with a range of relevant skills, you’ll likely find it much easier to navigate a career in your chosen field.
If this sounds like the kind of work environment for you, then we invite you to keep track of the available listings by joining our mailing list.
