Colleagues can now request holiday for the new leave year that starts on 1 October, submit sickness absences, and record other absences on MyView.
Please take the time to log into MyView, familiarise yourself with the new system, and read the key points and tips below now the system is live.
Information for managers:
-
You will receive email notifications each time a member of your staff requests annual leave, and you will need to log in to MyView to authorise this leave.
-
You can delegate the authorisation of leave to a colleague or another member of your team if required. You can delegate the whole team or individuals, and you can also choose to suppress the emails so that only your delegate receives the notifications. This short video shows you how to use delegation on MyView.
-
Further information for managers can be found on the MyView guidance webpages.
Information for all staff:
Viewing your leave entitlement:
-
Log into MyView as normal and view your leave entitlement within ‘My Leave & Team Calendar’ on the left-hand side of the screen. This will also show on your dashboard from 1 October 2022.
-
MyView will show your leave entitlement for October 2022 onwards, and will not include any entitlement from the 2021/22 leave year. To view your entitlement for the upcoming leave year (October 2022 – September 2023), press the ‘Next’ button on the View Past Entitlements button on the right of the screen in MyView.
-
Your leave entitlement has been calculated for you within MyView, but if you work part time, compressed hours or shift work, you are responsible for booking bank holidays and minimum service days that fall on your normal working days (see below).
-
For further information about your leave entitlement, visit the MyView guidance webpages.
Booking annual leave for October 2022 – September 2023:
-
Log in to MyView and simply follow the step-by-step instructions in this short video. You can also read the instructions on the MyView guidance webpages.
-
Booking leave is now even easier on MyView, as you can view when your colleagues will be away from work via the ‘Team Calendar’ feature.
-
You are entitled to carry over up to five days annual leave into 2022/23 if you have leave remaining from this year. This will need to be arranged and agreed with your manager and booked outside of MyView, such as through Outlook calendars.
If you work part time, compressed hours or shift work:
-
You are responsible for using your leave entitlement to book the bank holidays and minimum service days that fall on your normal working days.
-
In MyView, you will have a button labelled ‘Confirm Planned Work Time’ when you request holiday. You must ensure the hours on this button reflect the hours you would have worked during the week you are booking off. If not, you will need to overtype the hours with the correct ones.
-
These hours will need to be input each time you book leave to enable you to have flexibility if you work variable hours each week. However, if you generally work the same pattern each week you may wish to complete the working pattern form on MyView so that you do not have to change the hours each time.
Recording sickness leave and other absence:
-
Please continue to notify your line manager of any sickness absence in the first instance, before recording on MyView. Read more about how to record sickness absence on MyView.
-
You can also request other paid and unpaid leave via MyView – take a look at further guidance on the MyView guidance webpages.
