The Sussex MBA appoints Jeremy Jacobs as its first Entrepreneur in Residence

The Business School has appointed experienced entrepreneur, business consultant and Sussex MBA alumnus (July, 2021), Jeremy Jacobs, as the MBA programme’s first Entrepreneur in Residence to support and inspire the next generation of business experts and entrepreneurs.
Jeremy will be working with MBA students to provide mentorship, expertise, knowledge exchange and networking opportunities. The new Entrepreneur in Residence scheme is a part of the Sussex 2025 strategy aimed at equipping Sussex students with the required skills to achieve their business and entrepreneurial ambitions.
Dr Zahira Jaser, Deputy Director of the Sussex MBA programme, said: “I am delighted that Jeremy will be working with our students. He is an experienced entrepreneur, business consultant and mentor, as well an MBA graduate. Our students will benefit from his business insights.”
Jeremystarted his career managing multi-million-pound marketing campaigns for well-known global brands.On leaving the digital marketing industry, he launched two businesses including a family run food manufacturing company that operated successfully for 13 years. He currently serves as a mentor and consultant for a variety of businesses through his marketing and management consultancy, Cookie Jar Consultancy.
Jeremy is also the host and founder of ‘How Not to Run a Business’podcast, launched to normalise conversations around failure, mental health and what it takes to be an entrepreneur and business owner. He is proudly neurodivergent and a member of the LGBTQ+ community. He lives in Sussex with his partner and their two dogs.
Jeremy, who graduated from the MBA programme with distinction in 2021 said:
