Share your vaccination status - to help us with Covid safety measures

Today, 16 September, we emailed all staff about voluntarily sharing their vaccination status in a confidential way. You can read the message in full below:
Dear colleague,
Earlier in the summer, we asked for your views on the Covid-19 health and safety measures you would like to see as you returned to campus.
In that survey, more than 90% of staff said that they would be willing to inform the University if they had received one or both Covid-19 vaccines, providing this was done confidentially.
Since then we have developed a secure way for you to share this information with us, and we’re now inviting you to do so.
Why do we need this information?
It’s helpful for the University to know the likely levels of protection our staff have against the virus.
The data will be used to inform the University of the percentage of staff that have had a double vaccination - as part of our commitment to make campus as safe as possible and to encourage all staff to take up the vaccination, whilst recognising this is an individual choice.
This will help us to refine our business continuity plans. We will also share the aggregated data with the local Public Health Director and their team to help their outbreak planning.
We will also be asking students for their vaccinations status, which will remain anonymous.
Your data – your choice
You are now able to update your vaccination status on the MyView portal. It is your choice whether you supply this information to the University, and you can update or remove this data at any time.
The data will be held securely with access limited to relevant colleagues in Human Resources. The data will only be held for as long as is necessary for these purposes.
Best wishes,
Internal Communication
