The University of Sussex Business School is delighted to announce the launch of a Sustainable Finance and Accounting MSc.
The Sustainable Finance and Accounting MSc course is one of very few courses in the UK and Europe currently preparing students for the workplace in this exciting and growing branch of accounting and finance, known as sustainability and accountability.
Designed in line with recommendations by major professional bodies, including the Global Association of Risk Professionals and the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment, this new Masters degree builds upon the Principles for Responsible Management Education accreditation already achieved by the Business School.
The programme also draws on expertise from SPRU – Science Policy Research Unit, offering the opportunity to explore policies on sustainability development in the corporate world.
Dr Sarada Krishnan, Course Director of the Sustainable Finance and Accounting MSc, said: “We need a sustainable economy. Accounting and finance is increasingly focused on sustainability issues – on this MSc, you’ll gain the knowledge and experience you need for your future career.”
Environmental, social and governance issues are now a major factor in investment. This creates rapid growth in accounting and finance careers with a specific focus on sustainability.
Neha Coulon, Global Head of Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) Solutions at J.P. Morgan, said: “There’s increasing demand for expertise on topics related to ESG. Employers are keen to hire people who are knowledgeable and experienced in areas such as green finance, sustainability reporting and climate risk.”
The University of Sussex Business School is 5th in the UK for graduate prospects in Accounting and Finance (The Complete University Guide 2021).
Places are available for September 2021, with UK and EU students able to apply for the Hornsey Scholarship worth £10,000 towards tuition fees.
