Dr Emma Newport receive grant for post-Covid youth mental health project in the Global South

Dr Emma Newport been awarded a joint International Development Challenge Fund and Sussex Sustainability Research Programme grant of £18,900 for a youth mental health project focused on Covid-19 recovery in the Global South. Emma will be Principal Investigator of a project working with Professor Maya Unnithan in Global Studies, Dr Clio Berry in BSMS, and Dr Daniel Michelson in Psychology.
The project is a partnership with the Youth Café, a pan-African NGO based in Kenya, and has been developed from the online event series Lockdown Live held over the summer. To learn more about the Youth Cafe's work, please visit the website and follow their social media.
