On Thursday 21 January, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research and Enterprise, Keith Jones, will launch the Research with Impact forum, a researcher webinar taking place every two months which covers the entire spectrum of research and external engagement.
These informative, informal meetings are for all members of our research community: whether you are a PhD student new to research, an early career researcher writing your first grant proposal, or a more experienced researcher wanting to know more about the University’s strategic priorities.
Keith said: “We have a rich and varied community of researchers here at Sussex. At a time when all of us face the twin challenges of Covid and Brexit, it's more important than ever that we find a way to come together and share our experiences - and learn from each other.
"On 21 January we'll touch on topics such as: REF; our research 'shop window'; and the Strategic Development Fund - as well as wider themes like our research groupings. But these events are as much about talking as well as listening. We want to hear from as wide a range of researchers as possible over the coming months, and if you have suggestions for discussion subjects or speakers please let me know."
January's session, taking place from 2.30 pm - 4.00 pm, will see Keith joined by Director of Research and Enterprise, Sue Angulatta and Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research), Seb Oliver.
Each webinar in the series will involve varying presenters in order to showcase research, present external or internal research news, or provide useful information or tips on grant submissions, post award grant management, or forming spin-outs.
Please register for a ticket as spaces are limited. Details on how to access the online event will be emailed to registered attendees shortly before the event starts.
