The University of Sussex is delighted to be taking part in Ingenuity, a unique national and regional programme which looks to invest in the next generation of impact-driven start-ups that will transform society and the environment.
We are currently looking for people across the University to help drive the recovery and rebuilding of our environment, society and economy, post-Covid-19. There are three ways for members of the University community to get involved:
-
If you are a student, alumnus, researcher or academic member of staff, interested in developing a business idea, the Future Founders pathway is a great opportunity for you to discover and develop your ideas and then gain the know-how and skills to create your own business. Your ideas do not have to be fully formed but you will need to commit to addressing one of Ingenuity’s core challenges: Creating Prosperity, Building Community, Improving Health or Tackling Climate Change. Find out about this pathway and how to apply.
-
Other members of the University, including alumni, Professional Services staff and academics, who would like to work with like-minded changemakers and help the University have a greater positive impact on the community, wider society and the environment, can sign up to become one of the Regional Pioneers. Find out more about this pathway and how to apply to become a Regional Pioneer.
-
Also, if you have significant skills in business development, social innovation or the environment, get involved and become a Mentor and help to shape future business leaders. Find out more about this pathway and how to apply to become a Mentor.
This exciting project falls under the Engage for Change pillar of the University’s Strategic Framework as it engages students and staff in acting in the local and national interest. It enables them to find unique solutions to economic and social problems and works to embed business innovation and engagement in all areas of the University.
The Ingenuity Programme will run until March 2021. All applications should be made by 1 November 2020. To apply, visit the Ingenuity website.
