Merrill Jones, Head of Professional Services at the University of Sussex Business School, has been successful in her application to become a member of the Chartered ABS Professional Managers’ Committee.
The Chartered Association of Business Schools is the voice of the UK’s business and management education sector: supporting the development of staff across a number of roles in business schools; sharing new ideas and developing best practice; and representing UK business schools to business and government.
The Professional Managers Committee consists of leading managers in a senior role in business schools. Its mission statement is ‘to encourage and support high performance of professional services within business schools through a process of development and knowledge transfer.’ The committee seeks to support professional development by acting as a conduit for innovation and good practice, and it plays an integral role in the Professional Managers' Annual Conference (PMAC).
Of the appointment, Merrill said: “I am really pleased to have been successful in my application to join the CABS PMC and welcome the opportunity to network and collaborate further with colleagues in other Business Schools. Business School Professional Services colleagues have already benefitted from the learning and sharing within CABS, whilst exploring current issues within the sector.
“I will continue to work with and support Business School Professional Services in building our existing relationships and raising the profile of the University of Sussex Business School within the CABS membership, as well as encouraging contributions to the Professional Manager’s Annual Conference. This is an exciting start to the new academic year. I would like to thank Steve and the Business School for their support.”
Congratulations to Merrill on her appointment, from everyone at the Business School.
