As part of the Alzheimer’s Society’s Cupcake Day initiative on Thursday 14 June, a group of Business School bakers raised £162 from hungry colleagues eager to try out their homemade cakes and savoury muffins.
A variety of tempting treats were lovingly crafted by the team, including:
- almond and cherry cupcakes: Lucy Eggers, Clerical Assistant, Postgraduate Business and Management
- cheese and bacon savoury muffins: Daniel Vince-Archer, Information Coordinator
- cheese and onion savoury muffins: Daniel Vince-Archer
- chocolate sponge with strawberry decoration: Rebecca Hart, Clerical Assistant, International Summer School
- lemon and poppy seed cupcakes: Claire Tymoshyshyn, Visa Compliance and Attendance Monitoring Coordinator
- maple and pecan cupcakes: Corinna Hattersley-Mitchell, School Coordinator, Business and Management
- passionfruit and raspberry cupcakes: Corinna Hattersley-Mitchell

Corinna Hattersley-Mitchell, organiser of the event, was delighted by the amount raised through cake sales and other donations: “Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia are sadly a cause too close to too many of our hearts these days. Every bit of money spent on research and meeting the needs of people affected by this devastating illness is so important so I’d like to thank all who baked, bought cakes or donated to the Alzheimer’s Society on Cupcake Day.”
