A Marketing expert at the Sussex School of Business, Management and Economics (BMEc) has been awarded Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).
Senior Teaching Fellow René Moolenaar has received the Fellowship in recognition of his commitment to innovative, engaging teaching in marketing, and in evidence of his dedication to the field.
Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) is awarded to professionals who demonstrate 'a thorough understanding of effective approaches to teaching and learning support as a key contribution to high quality student learning'.
René is the first academic in the School to receive a Senior Fellowship, having achieved Fellow of the HEA in 2012. He joined Sussex in 2011 after holding senior marketing positions at Line One, United News & Media and Philips Media, and was founding Director of Prism Group, an Accountancy and Management Support firm.
He is the Course Director for the Marketing and Management BSc, and teaches Marketing Strategy on the undergraduate programme and Marketing Management on the Sussex MBA. His approach to teaching involves students in live marketing situations with the opportunity to work with real organisations, and visits to local business to learn more about marketing practice.
René commented on his achievement:
“I am very pleased with this highly regarded accreditation, particularly given our focus on providing our students with an excellent learning experience.”
