Following the departure of Registrar and Secretary, John Duffy, the University has started the recruitment process to fill the post.
Whilst the recruitment process is taking place, Vice-Chancellor Adam Tickell has asked a number of Professional Services directors to temporarily take on the duties of the Registrar.
Sharon Jones (Academic Registrar), Charles Dudley (Director of Residential and Campus Services), Paul Davies (Director of IT Services) and Kitty Inglis (Librarian) will split the Registrar role and co-ordinate duties. David Cole (Director of Planning, Governance and Compliance) will take on duties as Secretary to the University’s Council.
Adam Tickell said: “I am really grateful to these Directors for agreeing to assist with our interim arrangements.”
John Duffy joined the University in June 2009 and left Sussex for another job at the end of November. Commenting at the time, Adam Tickell said: “John has been Registrar during a period of significant growth and development of the University and I would like to thank him for his contribution to our evident current success.”
