As part of the new Strategy for 2025, the University is inviting students to attend a ‘We are Sussex’ drop-in on Wednesday 23 November to help ensure that our current students are able to influence and advise on the plans being developed for Sussex in the future. We want to make sure that the next generation of students who come here are able to benefit from your advice and experience.
The interative drop-in sessions aim to garner opinions on several themes that have developed from the ‘big vision’ ideas that 200 students shared as part of the ‘We are Sussex’ surveys last month. They should take no more than 30 minutes to complete – with the chance to enjoy some cake and snacks on us.
Vice-Chancellor, Adam Tickell, said: “I want to gather thoughts from as many people as possible on the future strategy for the University. This drop-in is designed to help me understand more detail behind your vision for Sussex - where you want us to be a decade from now, and the experience you want for the students of the future."
A number of activities and discussions will be taking place with the aim of delving deeper into what students want to see in the Sussex of the future.
The time and location of the drop-ins are as follows:
Room 76, Falmer House – from 10am – 2pm. Complimentary cake will be provided to aid constructive feedback.
East Slope Bar - from 3.30-5.30pm. Sandwiches will be provided on fist come first served basis at regular intervals.
Live art
Alongside the drop-ins, a live art project will also be taking place outside Falmer House. Two artists, who will be creating a giant mural using only marker pens, will be looking for students to tell them what makes Sussex the place that it is.
To help transfer your ideas on to the mural, all you have to do is simply tweet your idea to @susxunistudents with the #wearesussex hashtag. No idea is off limits but try to think about what makes Sussex great and what you’d like to see in the future.
