Please join us for an event co-hosted by the Institute of Development Studies and the Sussex Centre for Conflict and Security Research. Clemens Messerschmid will discuss the background of the Palestinian water crisis and conflict with Israel. He will ask:
Is Palestine really water scarce? What are deeper reasons for the ongoing water problems?
Are Palestinians suffering from a water ‘crisis’, and how does it manifest itself?
What is the role and responsibility of Western donor states, their governments and development agencies?
Is there a way out of the water problems?
Clemens is a German hydrogeologist, living and working for the past 19 years in the occupied territories, the West Bank and Gaza.
