Workshop: '1945 – Envisaging a new world order’
Monday 16 March 9:00 until 18:00
Social Space, Ground Floor Fulton Building, University of Sussex

To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, the Centre for German-Jewish Studies is organizing a one day workshop on '1945 – Envisaging a new world order.' The workshop is designed to explore plans, ideas, and visions entertained by governments, intellectuals and 'the people‘ in the period immediately after the end of the war. Most of these plans were informed by the notion that a new world order was required to prevent another global conflict and to secure global peace. Papers will explore how these ideas were formed in different locations throughout the globe seeking to provide new insights on how the world was envisioned following 1945.
