Important: action for all student visa holders - eVisa update

Last updated: Friday, 16 August 2024
UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) are developing a digital immigration system which means anyone with a Biometric Residence Permit will need to take action. Throughout 2024, UKVI are replacing physical immigration documents like Biometric Residence Permits (BRPs) with an online record of immigration status called an eVisa. Some more information is available on our University web guidance.
From today, any student with a biometric residence permit (BRP) expiring on 31 December 2024 can now create a UKVI account and access their eVisa, without needing an invitation from UKVI to do so. You should do this as soon as possible to ensure you can continue to evidence your right to be in the UK. See the Government website for more information and follow the instructions. If you have already received an invitation from UKVI and have followed instructions to access your eVisa, you do not need to do anything further at this stage.
If you have any questions about converting to an eVisa, please contact our International Advisors.
