On 2 May Vice-Chancellor Professor Sasha Roseneil unveiled the first full draft of the University’s new strategy - ‘Sussex 2035: Creating Progressive Futures’.
At the core of the strategy are the themes of Education and Student Life, Research and Innovation, and Global and Civic Engagement. The draft also introduces the idea of a new ‘Sussex School for Progressive Futures’, which would coordinate a world-changing programme of interdisciplinary education and research.
Contained within the strategy are three areas of focus: Environmental Sustainability, Human Flourishing, and Digital and Data Futures. There are also some updates to our values, and the proposed addition of a new value, Openness, which was mentioned several times during our consultation with students and staff earlier this year. This value will help to underpin Sussex’s commitment to engaging openly with the world.
You can read the full strategy here and then take a short survey here. The survey closes on Wednesday 22 May.
The results of this survey will help to create the final version of the strategy, which will be launched later this year.
