Dear Students,
I’m sure many of you are looking forward to the long bank holiday in honour of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. If you’re interested in taking part in celebrations that are happening all over the UK, and in the local Brighton and Hove area, you can find out more details via the Platinum Jubilee webpages.
Even whilst some will be celebrating our services on campus will continue, as they are a 24/7/365 operation, with dedicated staff ensuring that students can access the services and facilities they need. So over the summer, our campus continues to be open and all of our student facing services are here for you whether you’re on campus, or just visiting, you can still access facilities such as the Library, your new Student Centre, Sussexsport facilities and activities, catering and of course enjoy our beautiful campus grounds. You can also find online information, guidance and services on the Student Hub, which is updated on a regular basis.
Now please read on to find out about:
- Careers and Entrepreneurship information
- Marking and assessment boycott

Careers and Entrepreneurship information
If you’re looking for a part-time or vacation job, or you're looking for a graduate role, CV advice or setting up your own business and much more, do check out the Careers and Entrepreneurship webpages.
Marking and assessment boycott
As mentioned in previous Updates, we are continuing to work hard to help to resolve this national issue and we are in discussions with UCU at a local level. As soon as we have further information we will provide updates via the Student Hub.
Spirit of Sussex Awards Celebration
There’s still time to book your free place at the Spirit of Sussex Award Celebration on 8 June. It promises to be a great event, with food, networking opportunities, fun activities and inspiring talks from a range of speakers, including Dominic Arnall, Chief Executive of Just Like Us.
Media, Arts and Humanities Students Showcase
Students from the School of Media Arts and Humanities (MAH), are showcasing their brilliant work at the Attenborough Centre for Creative Arts on the University campus. Students are very welcome to visit, view and interact with the MAH students’ projects as well. Visitors are welcome from 10am to 9pm on 8 and 9 June and attendance is free. You can read more about the event here.
With best wishes,
Kelly
