The University of Sussex is committed to creating a culture where everyone can study, live and work safely and comfortably.
With this in mind, the University is piloting its Report and Support tool during August to allow students to provide feedback on the design and the content. This tool will allow all students and staff to report any abuse, discrimination, harassment or assault anonymously, or by providing contact details so that an Advisor can provide support and guidance.
We want to make sure that the tool is right for students at Sussex, and that’s why we’re running this testing phase to allow time for it to be refined and ready for a full launch in September. If you would like to access the tool you can do that by clicking on this link: Report & Support - University of Sussex.
Once you’ve accessed it you can give your feedback on it by completing the feedback form which is at the end of the tool’s page and can also be accessed here: Sussex Report & Support feedback form.
Kelly Coate, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Education and Students said “Here at Sussex we’re committed to providing a positive and safe environment in which our community has the upmost of respect for each other. In striving towards this, the University will not tolerate any form of abuse, or harassment.
“The report and support tool will better help us to understand and remove the barriers to students reporting these incidents. It will also will provide us with greater insight and understanding of what the issues are – and importantly what we can do to address them and prevent future incidents.”
In addition to the Support and Report tool, students who are experiencing any form of inappropriate behaviour, or need help on any matter that may be affecting them can disclose this anywhere they feel comfortable to do so at the University – such as via the Student Life centre to speak to a professional advisor, or any of our student services or within your School.
